Tinker and Fiddle

Tinker & Fiddle is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education company that encourages youth to learn and apply technology through creative exploration and problem solving. We host programming in the Capital District for youth ages 8-14 and design STEM curriculum for grade levels K-12.

Hilary Lashley Renison, CEO & Founder

A three time graduate of Cornell University, Hilary holds a BS in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, Masters in Mechanical Engineering and MBA. A Senior Manager and tenured technologist at a Fortune 20 company, Hilary has leveraged her technical and commercial acumen to support the business development of cutting edge technologies at one of the largest global technology firms. A graduate of two Energy Leadership programs, and formally an Energy Consultant, she has held roles in operations, technical sales, product management and marketing.

Previously serving as the Engineering College Diversity Associate for Cornell University, Hilary is well acquainted with the challenges and opportunities of underrepresented minorities in STEM. As the CEO & Founder of 'Tinker & Fiddle,' she aspires to make quality STEM exploratory learning accessible to all.

Jo Kim Budz, Director of Technical Curriculum

A two time graduate of Cornell University, Jo holds a Bachelors and Masters in Electrical & Computer Engineering. Currently a Technical Leader at a Fortune 20 company, she is a graduate of a Renewable Energy Leadership program and is the Founder of 'A Higher Standard,' a comprehensive college preparation service. Using her industry experience and technical acumen to design STEM curriculum, she hopes to provide youth with a foundation to pursue careers in the ever growing technology space.

Serena Joyce White-Lake, Director of Partnerships

Serena White-Lake holds an Honors BA in Political Science from Queens College and a JD from Fordham University School of Law. A former Judicial Law Clerk for the New York State Court of Appeals, she works as a labor and employment attorney. Passionate about increasing opportunities for underrepresented youth, Serena develops partnerships between Tinker & Fiddle, schools and community organizations, to provide youth with quality STEM education, preparing them for rewarding career opportunities in technology. Serena is also a Board Member of the African American Cultural Center in Albany, NY and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. 

Quinton Pierson, Director of Operations

Quinton holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Union College and was a two-time varsity and club sport athlete, playing football, baseball and rugby through out college. A former Program Manager at a Fortune 20 company, he is currently a Senior Project Manager at a multinational engineering and construction firm.
